Move Cars Faster with a Line Busting Team

Putting a line buster in the lane during busy dayparts has been around a long time. But with increasingly higher car counts in most drive-thrus, one line buster may not be enough. Try these for tips for keeping the cars moving smoothly through your lane.

1. Use line busting teams. When car counts exceed 10, send out multiple crewmembers – one extra line buster for every five additional cars.

2. Equip line busters with mobile tablets. This speeds the order process by getting orders to the kitchen right away and taking payment on the spot.

3. Let customers order before reaching the menuboard. When lines back up before customers reach the menuboard, take orders before they get there.

4. Deliver meals to customers in the queue. Add a “delivery” line buster to shuttle orders directly to customers in their cars and allow them to exit the lane at different points.
