How To Avoid Static in Your Drive-Thru Headsets
Is
your headset system producing too much static? Here are four ways to reduce
static in this critical drive-thru part.
Keep the headset dry.
When
liquid gets in to the headset, it can damage electrical components. If water or
other liquids get spilled onto the headset, immediately turn off the power,
remove the battery and let everything dry out before using again.
Clean battery contacts.
Dirty
contact points can cause static. On a regular basis, moisten a cotton swab with
alcohol and gently clean the battery contacts on each drive-thru battery and headset
charger port. Always unplug the charger before cleaning.
Try a different battery.
If
you hear static while adjusting the mic boom, replace it with a clean, dry
battery. If the static still occurs call CE Technical Support.
Store batteries and
headsets in a cool, dry place.
QSR
kitchens and work areas tend to be hot and moist. When not using headsets and
batteries, keep them in a dry location so moisture can’t seep in.
Moisture
can also damage other drive-thru parts, such as timer systems and display
monitors. So make it a point to check them on a regular basis for any signs of
moisture.
