Avoid Drive-Thru Part Problems with Outside Maintenance

Regular maintenance can prevent headsets and timer systems from going down during a busy shift. Your outside drive-thru parts and equipment need to be taken care of as well.

  • Vehicle Detector Loop. Check the surrounding concrete for cracks, potholes, and minor structural problems. Inspect the wiring and repair any problems immediately.

  • Communications Equipment. Clean the microphone and speaker grills on a regular basis. Make sure the foam inside the microphone and speaker enclosures is tightly packed. Look for cracks or other problems with the speaker posts and repair immediately.

  • Menuboard. Check for cracks in the frame and loose or frayed wiring. Inspect the glass for damage that could let rain, snow, dust and other debris seep in.

  • Drainage Grills. Remove all debris from the grill’s surface and clear the drain if necessary. If water builds up after clearing the drain, check for a clog in the pipe.
