Most drive-thru repairs vendors offer some form of drive-thru maintenance agreement, you may also know these agreements as extended warranties, and repair contracts, etc. for most if not all your drive-thru wireless system and drive-thru timer equipment.  For a pre-determined monthly, quarterly, or annual fee, you will receive drive-thru repair services and often, more times than not, receive advance exchange of broken equipment.  The following are some considerations you should take account for, if you are facing the decision to enter into such a commitment:

Benefits: 

One upside to this type of arrangement is that your overall drive-thru repair costs are predictable; you will never face an unforeseen cost when you are under the drive-thru maintenance agreement.  Some periods of time involve a higher number of drive-thru repairs, but your cost is spread out across the duration of the agreement.  Furthermore, a store manager is not motivated to "save up" broken drive-thru headsets to send in at one time, since when keeping all drive-thru equipment in good working order involves no incremental cost when you have the drive-thru maintenance agreement.  A second advantage, assuming that the agreement includes drive-thru repair advance exchange of some or all of your drive-thru equipment, is that you will have less downtime in your quick service restaurant, as replacement components are typically expressed to the store upon your call to the vendor.
